RINGBOOK (ringbook.app) is an independent community leaderboard and logbook for Bridge-to-Gantry laps of the Nürburgring Nordschleife. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Questions: the contact address (not published yet).
What we collect
- Account — email, a password (stored only as a salted hash) or your Google sign-in, your handle and country.
- Profile, if you fill it in — name (shown only if you choose), city, bio, first year at the Ring, and your Instagram, TikTok and YouTube usernames.
- Connected accounts — when you sign in with Google we receive your Google account ID, email and name. When you connect Instagram or TikTok to verify that the account is yours we receive its account ID and username (TikTok also sends your display name). We do not receive or store your posts, followers, messages or passwords, and we never post on your behalf.
- Cars and laps — your cars (and their photos, if you add them), lap times, dates, session type, tyres, conditions and anything you add to the private logbook.
- Telemetry logs — when you upload a log (for example a RaceChrono .rcz), it is read in your browser and only the part around the lap is sent to us: GPS positions, speed and timestamps from about 90 seconds before the bridge to 10 seconds after the gantry.
- Confirmations — when you confirm another driver's lap, and when they confirm yours.
What is public
Your handle, country, cars and their photos, verified badges, social usernames and the laps you publish — with their time, date, car, conditions, sectors and a map of the lap. Private laps, the private logbook, your analytics, costs, your email and everything else stay visible only to you; the board's admins can see private laps (not the logbook) when moderating.
How we use it
To run the leaderboard, your logbook and your analytics, to check uploaded laps automatically, to show that a social account really belongs to you, and to keep the board honest. No advertising, no selling or sharing of data with third parties, no analytics or tracking scripts.
Cookies and storage
One session cookie keeps you signed in; one remembers your language; a short-lived cookie protects sign-in with Google, Instagram and TikTok. If you install the app, a file you share into it is kept in your browser only until the lap form opens it.
Where it is stored
The site, its database and car photos are hosted by Vercel, Inc. and its database provider Neon, in Frankfurt (EU). We keep your data while your account exists.
Your rights
You can edit or delete your laps and profile yourself, and ask us at any time to access, correct, export or delete all of your data — see Data deletion. We answer within 30 days. If you are in the EU you may also complain to your data protection authority.
Age
RINGBOOK is for drivers aged 18 and over.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it; important changes are announced on the site.
